Straightening Teeth

There is no age limits for orthodontic treatments. Beautiful, straight teeth are possible for everyone. Misalignments can be perfectly corrected also in adulthood. An increasing number of adults trust in orthodontic treatments because of aesthetical and preventive reasons.

Elfi dental care utilizes  braces are that are far less invasive or obvious. Plus, new heat-activated archwires use your body heat to help teeth move more quickly and less painfully than in the past.

  • Pros:Least expensive type; Colored bands available (ask your kid’s orthodontist about band options)

Cons:Most noticeable type of braces

Ceramic braces, once known as clear braces, are the same size and shape as metal braces, except that they have tooth-colored or clear brackets that blend in to teeth. Options of using  tooth-colored wires to be even less noticeable are availed during treatment.
Pros: Less noticeable than metal braces; Proven to produce results faster than plastic aligners.
  • Cons:More expensive than metal braces; Brackets can stain easily if patients don’t care for them well Greater care required to maintain “clear” appearance

DAMON-Braces A.O self ligating braces

The brackets are cemented onto the teeth and firmly connected by a wire. Tooth movement is achieved by guiding the teeth with a light force along the wire into the ideal tooth position. The self ligating e.g  DAMON technique is a newly tested orthodontic concept: due to an almost absence of friction it applies less force than any other conventional appliances. This system allows a biologically optimally tolerated tooth movement, offering high patient comfort. On top of it, the treatment time is drastically reduced.

Lingual braces e.g Incognito

The Lingual System is invisible to the outer world, since all the brackets are cemented on the inner sides of the teeth. Based on a digital tooth model all brackets and arches are customised for each patient and cast in gold. Particularly the flat design of the brace ensures comfortable wear.

Invisalign: removable and invisible

No other orthodontic treatment is as comfortable and discreet as Invisalign. At the beginning of the treatment photos, X-ray images and dental imprints are made, which will be converted into 3D images. Your dentist will show you afterwards a 3-D computer simulation of the estimated treatment results.

The customised alignment splints are fitted step by step every two weeks in order to bring your teeth successively into the desired position.

The alignment splint has almost no impact on your pronunciation. The duration of treatment takes approximately 12 to 18 months. During this time Invisalign has a positive effect on your positive appearance − but hardly any effect on your daily life.

After your orthondontic treatment is finished, and your braces are removed, you will need retainers to hold your teeth in their new positions.

For how long do I need to wear retainers?
It takes time for the bone and all the tissues around your teeth to reorganise and therefore it is necessary to use retainers until your bite stabilises. In the first month after the braces are removed, the risk of relapse is very high.

If your teeth move back to their original positions, you may need fixed braces again to correct them.

What Will My Retainers Look Like?
The retainers are individually designed to prevent teeth from reverting to their original positions. Retainers can take the form of a removable appliance or a fixed wire bonded at the back of your front teeth.

Do I have to Wear Them All the Time?
Our highly skilled  Orthodontist  will prescribe the retention plan that is best for you.
